  1. Missing or damaged flashing around your chimney or skylight can cause water to leak through. Since flashing also seals off the foundation, you can end up with water stains in your walls.
  2. Shingles don’t last forever. They can crack, peel, or fall off as time goes by, which opens up your underlayment to rain. Once it gets through that, water ends up in your attic or home.
  3. Too much debris or ice in your gutters can cause water to build up. This can lead to water getting in your home or collapsing your gutters, which can expose the siding or tear up your roof.
  4. Lack of proper roof maintenance can let something small, like a few missing shingles, grow to a big problem, like mold or weakened beams.

Professional Roof Repair in Hot Springs, SD

Nothing is made to last forever, and your roof is no exception. The top layer of your roof is where the materials are, with the most-common being shingles. After that comes the underlayment, which is sheathing that acts as a back-up to prevent leaks. However, once the sheathing has absorbed enough water, you could end up with serious problems.

One of the best things you can do is have an inspection done by one of our professionals. Not only can we catch things early and fix them, but we’ll come up with a unique maintenance plan for your roof. That’s because a lot of homeowners don’t realize the dangers that a leak can cause. Moisture in your attic can cause your insulation to go bad, which can increase your electric bill or attract bugs and rodents.

This, in turn, can cause all sorts of medical issues in your air quality. Water can also form mold in your attic or start to rot the wooden beams holding your roof up. We suggest an inspection twice a year: Spring and Summer. More precipitation happens in the fall and winter, so we can fix anything before you’re hit with heavy rainfall or snow.

While your roof can last for years, it probably won’t make it without the right work. In fact, most of the roof replacements we have done were because the roof didn’t get the maintenance and inspections they needed. With the right repairs, we can improve the structural integrity of your roof and help your home retain temperatures. One aspect that’s often overlooked is your flashing, which is crucial to preventing leaks.

The metal strips around your external roof components is called flashing. It’s also used to seal your walls to the roof, so damaged or missing flashing is bad. Our team knows the local codes and regulations that need to be met for your home’s safety. You can trust us to make sure your roof is up to these codes, because we want your roofing to last longer and maximize your protection.

Even if you don’t have an inspection done twice a year, your roofing insurance might require an annual inspection to keep you covered. You’ve got nothing to lose with a free inspection by Swett Construction. If you notice water spots, stains, missing shingles, damaged flashing, or suspect anything’s wrong, don’t hesitate to call 605-890-2668 now for your roof repair in Hot Springs, SD!

Jesse and his crew did a super job replacing the old shingles on my house and garage, upgrading my roof to Class 4 Impact resistant shingles, and installing a roof ridge vent to eliminate the old thru-roof vents. The whole crew was friendly and considerate. Clean-up was fantastic – I only found one roofing nail on the ground after they were done. Five stars for sure!!!
